From Blakey to Brown, Como to Costa, Eckstine to Eldridge, Galbraith to Garner, Harris to Hines, Horne to Hyman, Jamal to Jefferson, Kelly to Klook; Mancini to Marmarosa, May to Mitchell, Negri to Nestico, Parlan to Ponder, Reed to Ruther, Strayhorn to Sullivan, Turk to Turrentine, Wade to Williams… the forthcoming publication Treasury of Pittsburgh Jazz Connections by Dr. Nelson Harrison and Dr. Ralph Proctor, Jr. will document the legacy of one of the world’s greatest jazz capitals.
Do you want to know who Dizzy Gillespie idolized? Did you ever wonder who inspired Kenny Clarke and Art Blakey? Who was the pianist that mentored Monk, Bud Powell, Tad Dameron, Elmo Hope, Sarah Vaughan and Mel Torme? Who was Art Tatum’s idol and Nat Cole’s mentor? What musical quartet pioneered the concept adopted later by the Modern Jazz Quartet? Were you ever curious to know who taught saxophone to Stanley Turrentine or who taught piano to Ahmad Jamal? What community music school trained Robert McFerrin, Sr. for his history-making debut with the Metropolitan Opera? What virtually unknown pianist was a significant influence on young John Coltrane, Shirley Scott, McCoy Tyner, Bobby Timmons and Ray Bryant when he moved to Philadelphia from Pittsburgh in the 1940s? Would you be surprised to know that Erroll Garner attended classes at the Julliard School of Music in New York and was at the top of his class in writing and arranging proficiency?
Some answers can be gleaned from the postings on the Pittsburgh Jazz Network.
For almost 100 years the Pittsburgh region has been a metacenter of jazz originality that is second to no other in the history of jazz. One of the best kept secrets in jazz folklore, the Pittsburgh Jazz Legacy has heretofore remained mythical. We have dubbed it “the greatest story never told” since it has not been represented in writing before now in such a way as to be accessible to anyone seeking to know more about it. When it was happening, little did we know how priceless the memories would become when the times were gone.
Today jazz is still king in Pittsburgh, with events, performances and activities happening all the time. The Pittsburgh Jazz Network is dedicated to celebrating and showcasing the places, artists and fans that carry on the legacy of Pittsburgh's jazz heritage.
WELCOME!

1. Plug your phone into a PC and copy all data you want to save off of your SDCARD onto a temporary folder on your PC, When you are done backing up either unmount your sdcard, or unplug the phone from the PC. 2. Boot up into recovery by holding down the SEND MENU and END buttons. 3. Click "Create Link" to move and link applications to 2nd partition with Link2SD. You can see "Linked -> SD card" label for linked apps. If you click "Move to SD" app will be moved to first partition with native app2sd method of Android OS. This is same as going to "Manage Applications" and then clicking "Move to SD". I have a 128gb micro sd formatted as ext4 10gb for app2sd 2nd ext4 partition ( p2 ) on my Android 6 phone . All my apps ( 80%) stay on that ext4 partition . Now app2sd cant load this partition - "unable to mount .kgrinvalid file" Also the 119 gb main fat ( exFat) partition ( p1) used to hold my data is mounted as RO.I am rooted on a Sony experia Z3 . A brief background : here use this method app2sd Steps to prepare for installation: # download app2sd version 2 here # Unzip the downloaded file and you should see a folder "APP2SD Package". # Rename "APP2SD Package" folder to "app2sd" and move this folder to MicroSD. (place it in the root: MicroSD card/) Next, simply connect the XT720 to your computer. I tried to partition Micro SD card from PC mini partition wizard and created two three partition. first one of 20GB Fat32 Second one 20GB ext2 Third one 20 GB ext2. When I connected it to mobile it doesn't show any partition and asked.for.formatting in portable or internal when I said to format as internal it formatted and deleted all partitions. I'm really bad at explaining stuff but I think this is gonna be pretty easy to do. First off, I have gone from about 45megs free space to over 120 megs free space and it easy as heck to do. First thing your gonna need to do is install the app Link2SD. It's free and in the market. Find it. Your SD card should already be formatted with at least 1 ext4 partition and 1 Fat partition. Partitioning will erase everything on your SD card. Mount your Eris to your computer and copy everything on your SD card into a separate folder on your computer. 2. Boot into recovery. (Hold the Volume up and Power button at the same time) 3. When you are in recovery, choose Partition sdcard. 4. Select Partition SD. Everything runs more quickly and smoothly. But the inner storage is very little to install new apps (beside system files, only about 140Mb for app and 80Mb left). So I tried to use the app2sd+ method on Android 2.3. I moved /data/app and /data/app-private to /sd-ext/ with soft link, everything is OK now. But after I moved /data/dalvik-cache to This is a step-by-step, spoon-fed guide for implementing Link2SD on your Optimus S in order to effectively increase your internal memory so that you can install more apps and get rid of that "low First create a fat32 partition at the beginning of the drive leaving about 1GB of empty space (more or less depending on how much space you want for installing apps) In the empty space create a linux ext3 partition; Flag the fat32 partition as boot; Apply changes; Step Two: Copy files to the microSD card
