<p>its so funny i have a record in my jazz vinyl collection called kenny Dorham, playing live somewhere, with Bobby Timmons on piano. he takes a beautiful solo on "autumn in new York' which is so evocative of NYC.. I was thinking i need to listen to more of Kenny Dorham, because he is also on some of my early Horace Silver records. this little recap of his history is great and i will read this and try and learn a bit more about a great trumpeter, Kenny Dorham. </p>

<p>Kenny Dorham was one of my stylistic heroes when I was a teen developing my trombone language by copying his solos from the first two Jazz Messenger recordings. His sound is permanently recorded in my mind.</p>
