Douglas J is an artist not trained by conventional means. He has not attended an art school nor has he trained with an instructor, but inspired by the Holy Spirit of God. Douglas uses his gift in different mediums and has the ability to see beyond natural limited vision. He works with soft pastels on board and the results are astounding. Another medium that he creates beautiful images in is colored pencils. These images seem to speak to the very heart and spirit of those that view his work. You will see that this is not just a picture drawn by an artist, but that this is truly a gift from the Masters Hand.
Douglas is very detailed in the things that he is able to create. As an artist, he has created illustrations, designs and drawings for many individual and corporate clients. You can see that he is a jazz lover. His uncle played the saxophone in the Old Crawford Grill days in Pittsburgh Pa. and his father played the guitar. This is why he has a love of jazz. What he cannot do with a musical instrument, he makes up for in creating illustrations of jazz musicians and other scenes with soft pastels.
Douglas has exhibited with the Women of Vision show, “Striving: Contemporary African American of Pittsburgh” at the John Heinz Pittsburgh Regional History Center, the CAPA Gallery at the Creative and Performing Arts School in the Pittsburgh Cultural District and other galleries in the surrounding region.
Look for many explosive, refreshing, and exciting inspired original treasures to come from his hands. He is truly gifted and anointed of God.
So please if you have something in mind let him know. He will add a new piece every month, as time will permit. All art is copy written and is represented by Bezaleel Studio. Thank you for stopping by. Much PEACE AND LOVE.
