About Me:
"The Tuesday Night Big Band" (TNB) was formed about 2003 by Dr. Tom Yost (who has provided the band with hundreds of charts, state of the art sound equipment and everything necessary to supply the band), Dick Smith (trombone) and Deb Weible (drums). TNB repretoire consists of jazz arrangements by such arrangers as Tom Kubis, Gordon Goodwin and Sammy Nestico, to name a few. Many of the band's jazz arrangements have been specially arranged and/or composed by the band's directors Richard Mansfield and Joe Campus. TNB delivers these fresh original arrangements at every performance!!!

In 2006, the band grew and evolved into a second band called 'The Pittsburgh Doo Wop Big Band" (PDWB). The PDWB repretoire consists of all original Doo Wop style charts written by Richard Mansfield. The band also performs a show called "Memories Are made with Music - A Tribute to the 50's, 60's & 70's" that includes tunes from the favorite artists of that era. This show was entirely written and arranged by Rich Mansfield. Many will recognize Rich as the arranger and orchestra conductor for the nationally acclaimed PBS "American Soundtrack Series" shows "Doo Wop 50", "Doo Wop 51" & R&B 40". This is Doo Wop in a BIG way!!

I am a parent of one of the students at the Vandergrift Elementary School that you played on Wed Mar 27th. I want to say that first of all the concert was fantastic. You really put on a great show! Second you really made that night a night to remember for my daughter, who was fortunate enough to get to play with you on stage. I really appreciate you taking the time to come to the school to perform, but to go that extra mile and do what you did at the end was unbelievable and that is her last impression of that night. She is as we speak floating on cloud nine. Thanks again to all of the musicians that were at Vandergrift Elementary tonight.
