Aubrey Bruce, founder of Urban Pulse Network” and the American Youth Journalism Corps. has enjoyed a successful career as a musician, journalist and music promoter, simultaneously. Bruce has produced live performances and performed alongside such artists as George Benson, Chick Corea, Jean Luc-Ponty, Diane Reeves, Roy Ayers and Norman Connors and the late Phyllis Hyman. Bruce began his musical career at the age of 13 years old. To date he has performed with artists’ such War Jr., Steve Torok (former music arranger for The Voice and American Idol), Norman Connors, Angela Bofill, Kenny Blake, Christopher Dean Sullivan, Elder Richard Cotton, Roger Humphries, Tony Campbell, Brett Williams, Darryl Strodes, D.T and the Shakers, (featuring the late Dennis Takos from the “Silencers”) and many others too numerous to list here. The great New York City Bassist Christopher Dean Sullivan who has worked with Aubrey for close to four decades at venues such as the former Lennox Lounge in Harlem, NY, the historic Crawford Grille and Crawford Grille #2 in Pittsburgh, PA says that: “Aubrey can walk from the press box onto the stage and back to the press box without ever missing a beat.” Bob Karlovits, former music critic for the now defunct Pittsburgh Tribune-Review says as far as Aubrey Bruce is concerned; “You never know what to expect from the singer.”
