About Me:
Steel City Jazz Project formed during the summer of 2009. All three members united in a search to find a swinging bassist. For several months the project pushed forward with no low end support. Through sheer frustration it was decided that they would remain a trio using a 8-string guitar to help provide depth to their arrangements. The combination of Ben's unique ax and Jeff's heavy drumming created a new rhythm section from just two musicians. Add the diverse melodic development of Jake's horns and thus you have Steel City Jazz Project.

Influenced by many different genres and performers, Steel City Jazz Project plays a wide variety of music. From straight-ahead jazz and bebop, to funky fusion and latin inspired pieces. The Steel City Jazz Project tries to cater to the needs of each individual venue and audience. Although they play a considerable repertoire from the classic songbooks, they are equally adept at performing contemporary pieces - all in there signature voice.

The Steel City Jazz Project is currently booking shows for summer and fall 2010. If you have a party, wedding, fundraiser, or business event that requires just the right music to set the ambiance, we'd be happy to hear from you.
