i lived in pittsburgh for the majority of my formative years and it's where I first became seriously involved with music
Favorite Pittsburgh musicians/performers
I could state all the obvious legendary greats....Your George Bensons, your Stanley Turrentines, Lena Hornes, Ahmad Jamal, etc...but instead I'll give a shout out to a few of the awesome players who had a hand in my personal development as a musician: folks like Howie Alexander, Paul Thompson, Roger Humphries, Dwayne Dolphin...hell, this list could be just as long!
Favorite Jazz Radio or media station
K-Jazz out of long beach California
Favorite Pittsburgh Jazz Venue
I was always kinda partial to James Street over on the North Side but I don't know if it's there anymore.....the Balcony was nice too back in the day....As far as clubs that are open now I guess I'll have to go with CJ's in the strip! Just wish I could get back to the burgh more often.
About Me:

I moved out to southern california to pursue a career in performance and now perform in a number of bands, most notably Metal/Funk band Year of the Dragon and Soul/Funk/Jazz band Upstart
