I grew up in Pittsburgh——in Penn Hills, and graduated from Penn Hills Senior High School in 1972. My first jazz composition ever performed by someone other than its composer was on the stage at Penn Hills Senior High in 1971 or 72 in a comic play called _The Bad Children_.
