About Me:
Pearlann Porter is the founding Artistic Director of The Pillow Project: an ever-evolving idea for creating new methods in multimedia choreography through an experimental modern-jazz philosophy. Pearlann is dedicated to igniting a unique cultural movement in Pittsburgh via her most recent work with The Pillow Project, including the launch of a new outdoor public performance concept (The Zeitgeist Movement) and the continuation of the ongoing performance/art happening series, Second Saturdays. As having been obsessed with "The Pale Blue Dot" since childhood, it seems only fitting that her most recent strain of choreographic work has been focused on translating the elegant Art of Science through human bodily movement: exploring some of our fundamental perceptions of reality, questioning our lonely place in this universe and approaching dance as the living, breathing, responding, evolving, emotionally chaotic medium that is us.
