I'm a South African-American pianist-composer- Jazz Academic, spending some 30 years of my life 1961-2001 in exile in he U.S. where my interaction with American musicians resulted in a wonderful performance and recording career. I feel honored and blessed to have worked with Pharoah Saunders, Wallace Roney, Cindy Blackman, Archie Shepp, Miriam Makeba, Lenny White, Dewey Redman, Charles Lloyd and Sonny Stitt. I've recorded C.D.'s as a sideman with John Handy, Bobby Hutcherson, Woody Shaw, Hadley Caliman, Elvin Jones, Rene McLean, Hugh Masekela, Joshua Redman and Mario Pavone..
I was the pianist in the Jackie McLean band for 8 Years and the pianist on three of his C.D's "Dynasty" "Rites of Passage" & " The J Mac attack Live in Belgiium"
I'm currently the Director of the Miriam Makeba Center of Performing Arts at the University of Fort Hare's East London campus in South Africa.
My life is passing before my eyes; love the soul feeling associated with Jazz and the musicians continuing that artistry. happy to be your friend .... great sounds happening while I'm adding these comments.
