The first 'BC - Ancestors' is scheduled for release in October 2009 on the Legend label. The second 'AD - Sangreal' will then be released in Summer 2010. There are then plans afoot to put the whole show on the road, playing material from both of the new albums and the previous two albums from the 1970s.

These are unashamedly 'symphonic' rock albums in which the seven band composers have attempted to create majestic themes, with touches of Celtic and ambient atmosphere, intended to reflect the ancient and medieval world subject matter. The orchestrations are complex and full of depth, with few concessions to the standard four-piece rock band formula. The rhythm patterns are richly textured, drawing from Middle Eastern, African and Celtic cultures. But the melodies are simple, melodic and memorable.

We hope you like what you hear.

www.Mandalaband.co.uk
www.myspace.com/mandalaband3
www.edunitsky.net

***** Closing out the Session, Howie Alexander Trio @ Ava Lounge tag:jazzburgher.ning.com,2009-01-17:1992552:Video:39860 2009-01-17T15:58:06.198Z Phat Man Dee https://jazzburgher.ning.com/profile/PhatManDee

At the end of a fairly phenomenal evening of music, Mr Alexander (keys) along with his compatriots Mr Paul Thompson (bass) and Mr James Johnson III (percussion) close out the session with a lovely and inspiring blues. Watch for the incredibly prolific embrochures of Dr Nelson Harrison, Reggie Watkins, Rick Matt, Chris Hemmingway, Matt Parker, Julio Monterrey and others - open to re edit this blurb if someone sends me some names - as they sit in on this wonderful night of music. Please to enjoy. This video was shot by Phat Man Dee on a Canon Powershot A 590 and then edited in Final Cut on her Mac.
As you can see, a Mon night at Ava Lounge in Pittsburgh, PA is a pretty special thing.
