From Blakey to Brown, Como to Costa, Eckstine to Eldridge, Galbraith to Garner, Harris to Hines, Horne to Hyman, Jamal to Jefferson, Kelly to Klook; Mancini to Marmarosa, May to Mitchell, Negri to Nestico, Parlan to Ponder, Reed to Ruther, Strayhorn to Sullivan, Turk to Turrentine, Wade to Williams… the forthcoming publication Treasury of Pittsburgh Jazz Connections by Dr. Nelson Harrison and Dr. Ralph Proctor, Jr. will document the legacy of one of the world’s greatest jazz capitals.
Do you want to know who Dizzy Gillespie idolized? Did you ever wonder who inspired Kenny Clarke and Art Blakey? Who was the pianist that mentored Monk, Bud Powell, Tad Dameron, Elmo Hope, Sarah Vaughan and Mel Torme? Who was Art Tatum’s idol and Nat Cole’s mentor? What musical quartet pioneered the concept adopted later by the Modern Jazz Quartet? Were you ever curious to know who taught saxophone to Stanley Turrentine or who taught piano to Ahmad Jamal? What community music school trained Robert McFerrin, Sr. for his history-making debut with the Metropolitan Opera? What virtually unknown pianist was a significant influence on young John Coltrane, Shirley Scott, McCoy Tyner, Bobby Timmons and Ray Bryant when he moved to Philadelphia from Pittsburgh in the 1940s? Would you be surprised to know that Erroll Garner attended classes at the Julliard School of Music in New York and was at the top of his class in writing and arranging proficiency?
Some answers can be gleaned from the postings on the Pittsburgh Jazz Network.
For almost 100 years the Pittsburgh region has been a metacenter of jazz originality that is second to no other in the history of jazz. One of the best kept secrets in jazz folklore, the Pittsburgh Jazz Legacy has heretofore remained mythical. We have dubbed it “the greatest story never told” since it has not been represented in writing before now in such a way as to be accessible to anyone seeking to know more about it. When it was happening, little did we know how priceless the memories would become when the times were gone.
Today jazz is still king in Pittsburgh, with events, performances and activities happening all the time. The Pittsburgh Jazz Network is dedicated to celebrating and showcasing the places, artists and fans that carry on the legacy of Pittsburgh's jazz heritage.
WELCOME!

Description This script allows to protect the PDF, that is to say prevent people from copying its content, print it or modify it. Important: some PDF readers like Firefox ignore the protection settings, which strongly reduces the usefulness of this script. SetProtection ( [array permissions [, string user_pass [, string owner_pass]]]) Specifies the path and file name of the script file with optional file name extension. Specifies batch mode, which does not display alerts, scripting errors, or input prompts. Starts the debugger. Specifies the engine that is used to run the script. Registers cscript.exe as the default script host for running scripts. Once upon a time I would have recommended PDFtk - the PDF toolkit (which I still use with AutoHotkey to script merging and splitting PDFs). However, I see there are recent reported problems with it. An alternative, also scriptable, is cpdf - Coherent PDF - which I'm now going to be testing as a replacement for PDFtk. Hope this helps cpdf wrapper for node. When run with no options, the output file is functionally identical to the input file but may be structurally reorganized, and orphaned objects are removed from the file. In the opened mergepdf document, copy and paste the example shell script code, shown below, into the document, and then save and close the document. Note: If you did don't copy the cpdf binary executable to a directory that is in the PATH passed to the shell, then use the fully qualified pathname of the cpdf binary executable in the shell script. Apple's python script in the Automator action is very slow, as it uses CoreGraphics's CGPDFDocument APIs, rather than the newer PDFKit framework. It also imports the entire CoreGraphics library, rather than just the required APIs. An alternative, faster python script, can be found here: COMP2017 / COMP9017 Introduction to C Make Files The script you wrote above is an approximation of a utility called a make file. These files exist alongside C and C++ code and manage the compilation of more complex projects without needing to re-type the instructions to the compiler each time. By default the make command will look for a file named makefile and use it to compile the code as ClibPDF functions VI. ClibPDF functions ClibPDF lets you create PDF documents with PHP. It is available at FastIO but it isn't free software. You should definitely read the licence before you start playing with ClibPDF. If you cannot fullfil the licence agreement consider using pdflib by Thomas Merz, which is also very powerful. Get notifications on updates for this project. Get the SourceForge newsletter. PDF file format: Basic structure [updated 2020] We all know that there are a number of attacks where an attacker includes some shellcode in a PDF document. This shellcode uses some kind of vulnerability in how the PDF document is analyzed and presented to the user to execute malicious code on the targeted system. The Canvas is Dompdf's API for interacting with the underlying library t
