For almost 100 years the Pittsburgh region has been a metacenter of jazz originality that is second to no other in the history of jazz. One of the best kept secrets in jazz folklore, the Pittsburgh Jazz Legacy has heretofore remained mythical. We have dubbed it “the greatest story never told” since it has not been represented in writing before now in such a way as to be accessible to anyone seeking to know more about it. When it was happening, little did we know how priceless the memories would become when the times were gone.
Today jazz is still king in Pittsburgh, with events, performances and activities happening all the time. The Pittsburgh Jazz Network is dedicated to celebrating and showcasing the places, artists and fans that carry on the legacy of Pittsburgh's jazz heritage.

Honoring Our Blues Legends!
blessed in being a part of the Marion James Nashville Annual Blues
Reunion. As the great Bobby Hebb recently passed away his wonderful
family attended and we made the evening in remembrance of his great
work and contribution not only to the world of blues but also to
American Music. Last night was a time for us to honor in remembrance so
many great musicians, performers and writers that have passed away. It
was an evening of giving as all proceeds went to the American Lung
Association and the Starving Musicians of Nashville. The night was a
complete success and thank you Marion James for doing such a wonderful
job and putting in so many hours of hard work to make last night a very
special evening for so many people. For me, it was such a wonderful
experience to perform with not only my band and great friends but also
a chance to give of myself for our great legends and all that they have
given to us. This was also an evening for old friends to come together
that had not seen eachother in many years and a time for me to meet
such great people and huge talent. I loved the evening and am so glad
and greatful that I could do my small part in helping to make the
evening such a great success.
