One of the best kept secrets in jazz folklore, the Pittsburgh Jazz Legacy has heretofore remained mythical. We have dubbed it “the greatest story never told” since it has not been represented in writing before now in such a way as to be accessible to anyone seeking to know more about it. When it was happening, little did we know how priceless the memories would become when the times were gone.
Today jazz is still king in Pittsburgh, with events, performances and activities happening all the time. The Pittsburgh Jazz Network is dedicated to celebrating and showcasing the places, artists and fans that carry on the legacy of Pittsburgh's jazz heritage.

April was JAZZ APPRECIATION MONTH! And what a great month it was at Savoy Monday Night Jazz. We want to thank all of you who came out to celebrate great jazz at Savoy. And now, we get ready to celebrate great jazz for the rest of the year, right here at Savoy. Every Monday is jazz appreciation at Savoy! Join us (and bring all your friends)!
On May 6, 2013, the featured artist will be Mike Tomaro, amazing saxophonist, flutist, clarinetist, composer, arranger and educator of the great art of jazz. Mike is well known to the world of jazz. He has played with and arranged for some of the most notable artists in jazz. And now he brings his conciderable talent to Savoy this Monday. And, as always, a solid musical foundation will be laid for Mike by the Roger Humphries Trio! Doesn't get any better than that!
