Over the past year, Savoy has presented some of the finest live jazz around, performed by some of the best jazz artists Pittsburgh has to offer. And some of those amazing artists, though originally from this area, spent a great deal of their career traveling the globe, working with some of the most notable names in jazz before once again settling down in the Pittsburgh area. One such artist is the remarkable SPANKY WILSON, who has worked with the likes of Jimmy McGriff, Brother Jack McDuff, Nat Adderley and Jimmy Smith, just to name a few. Spanky has left Paris, France to come home to Pittsburgh and with her she brings all the greatness of the music she's shared all over the world.
Spanky will once again be with us at Savoy for MONDAY NIGHT JAZZ on Oct 1, 2012. It promises to be a great evening of jazz with this international songtress, and, as always, a solid musical foundation will be laid by Roger Humphries and his trio! Trust me, you don’t want to miss it! See you there.
