For almost 100 years the Pittsburgh region has been a metacenter of jazz originality that is second to no other in the history of jazz. One of the best kept secrets in jazz folklore, the Pittsburgh Jazz Legacy has heretofore remained mythical. We have dubbed it “the greatest story never told” since it has not been represented in writing before now in such a way as to be accessible to anyone seeking to know more about it. When it was happening, little did we know how priceless the memories would become when the times were gone.
Today jazz is still king in Pittsburgh, with events, performances and activities happening all the time. The Pittsburgh Jazz Network is dedicated to celebrating and showcasing the places, artists and fans that carry on the legacy of Pittsburgh's jazz heritage.

SAVOY JAZZ!
Over the past year, Savoy has presented some of the finest live jazz around, performed by some of the best jazz artists Pittsburgh has to offer. Continuing in that tradition, we're glad to once again bring you the great tenor sax sounds of JAY WILLIS, on Oct. 8, 2012. Jay has been a popular sax man on the Pittsburgh scene for decades and the last time he performed at Savoy Monday Night Jazz, he brought the house down! Oct. 8th with Jay promises to be just as exciting! And, as always, a solid musical foundation will be laid by Roger Humphries and his trio! Trust me, you don’t want to miss it! See you there.
Dining: Select entree and dessert items will be available to enjoy along with full lounge menu. Drink specials are all domestic beers for $3.00 (plus tax) and a special martini called the "Jazztini" for $8.00 (plus tax).
