All I can say is...WOW!
Ok, you twisted my arm, I can say this, too: not only was the houseband rockin, but every group, singer, musician that was welcomed on stage created an unparalleled energy that I've yet to experience in the 'Burgh.
This newly organized jam session is the spawn of drummer David Yoho who is not only an incredible musician but a humble musical jam host.
Chizmo (I think is how you spell his name), on lead vocals, included the audience into every song with his flirtatious dialogue sung from table to table and person to person.
Then there was the incredible improvisational guitarist, Frank something, and Yoho on drums and Keith on bass. For me, the real shit started when a duo named "Rare Form" got on stage. A blues guitarist and a harmonica player alone....whoa! What a pair.
Of course, Dr. Nelson's customized trumpet-like instrument that plays sounds as diverse as a piano, added that smooth interjection as naturally as a bee to its hive. smoooooooth.
Vocalist Barbara Ray...THANK YOU! Your strong, billie-holiday-style stage stuff is kickin'
KUDOS to you all!
