For almost 100 years the Pittsburgh region has been a metacenter of jazz originality that is second to no other in the history of jazz. One of the best kept secrets in jazz folklore, the Pittsburgh Jazz Legacy has heretofore remained mythical. We have dubbed it “the greatest story never told” since it has not been represented in writing before now in such a way as to be accessible to anyone seeking to know more about it. When it was happening, little did we know how priceless the memories would become when the times were gone.
Today jazz is still king in Pittsburgh, with events, performances and activities happening all the time. The Pittsburgh Jazz Network is dedicated to celebrating and showcasing the places, artists and fans that carry on the legacy of Pittsburgh's jazz heritage.

New projects from Brian Edwards coming soon......
We here at B.D.M. , Inc. hope you have had a great summer and hope that you have caught some of The Brian Edwards Excursion shows that took place. We wanted to fill you in on a project that is soon to be released. Brian Edwards has been working on a four volume set of music which the first release will be released at the end of september or early October. This project has been described as a "stream of conscience-ness, that hence, in it's four "movements"is in of itself thought spoken through tone. All of the tracks were written,performed, and recorded by Brian,in which he plays keys,drums,percussion(tabla,dunbek,djembe,
conga,etc.), and vocals. This simply is captured moments in various times of the musician, the drummer, the man! We will keep you informed as the release dates gets closer. In other Brian Edwards news: Brian is now excepting students! This is a rare opportunity to study with a world class drummer who has played with some of the best in the world, period! Although he has played all over the world, he chooses to live here and believes in the future talent of Pittsburgh and wants to share the knowledge he has accumulated over the years with up and coming drummers. He is now on staff at Bentley and Romito Music Studios in Irwin , Pa.. Brian is also available for private instruction here at the B.D.M. Studios located in Bellevue, Pa.
