greetings to all non musicians on the site, I need to speak to you. As some of you know I have been away from pittsburgh for about 7 or 8 years now and even though some of you have never heard of me or heard me play, I am one of many musicians that has helped keep jazz alive in pgh.. After a long time away I am coming back home to a more vibrant music scene than when I left, however the criminal element lives in the Burgh too! What I mean is this, you CANNOT tape musicians playing locally no more than you can tape cats playing Heinz Hall. And for all of you arm chair lawyers WE DO HAVE RIGHTS! The law protects our craft and our work and to that affect you can be and should be sued!
There are great players that choose to live here although they can live any where else in the world. To coin an old saying, "you won't miss what you had until it's gone." Nonsense of this sort will have a musician packing to find a better scene. If you love us musicians Pittsburgh help protect us from music thieves, if you see someone recording your favorite musicians, go and ask the guys if they know they are being recorded! Recording musicians without there permission is theft plain and simple. The people who do this have no respect for the music, musicians, or our great legacy and need to be singled out and thrown out.
