For almost 100 years the Pittsburgh region has been a metacenter of jazz originality that is second to no other in the history of jazz. One of the best kept secrets in jazz folklore, the Pittsburgh Jazz Legacy has heretofore remained mythical. We have dubbed it “the greatest story never told” since it has not been represented in writing before now in such a way as to be accessible to anyone seeking to know more about it. When it was happening, little did we know how priceless the memories would become when the times were gone.
Today jazz is still king in Pittsburgh, with events, performances and activities happening all the time. The Pittsburgh Jazz Network is dedicated to celebrating and showcasing the places, artists and fans that carry on the legacy of Pittsburgh's jazz heritage.

- About Me:
- Hello. I am Kimmarie Johnson. I live abroad and I miss my city with all my heart. Not a day goes by that I do not yearn to be there, however the bulk of my work is on the West Coast. Los Angeles California.
I was born and raised in Wilkinsburg PA and from there I went to California University of PA and earned a degree in elementary education. I started modeling while in school which led me to New york. I returned to Pittsburgh and became Miss Pennsylvania USA (Donald Trump's pageant) and competed in the Miss USA where I found myself in the top 5 and unable to answer a question. lol...I had no pageant training but did well despite my non experience to the pageant world. While at the Miss USA I was scouted by many managers/agents abroad and found myself in Los Angeles, doing national commercials as well as film and tv. In the year of 2000 I was hired in Dude where's my car...the ball continued to roll and I did very well. Modeling was my expertise, so I traveled abroad the globe doing wonderful works with Oscar De La Renta, and a host of other top designers doing runway shows. I returned to Los Angeles CA where I continued modeling and acting. 10 years ago I had my son,throughout that time, I've executive produced a few projects, Kimchi Warrior which is a huge pop culture cartoon in Korea! I'm happy as the series has won best awards for web series...I've also produced the film The Last eve. Now I am back at modeling/acting at my so very youthful age. ;-)
My son... He now is a guitarist, has earned himself a scholarship to Blessed Sacrament Catholic School here in Los Angeles. He is in 7th grade performs at many venues and festivals throughout Southern California and Vegas as well as belongs to www.club42online.com
At the end of it all here in this "about me" I am a girl from Pittsburgh PA and I love the culture and I'm looking forward to coming home all of the time. When I'm in, I'd love to link up with jazzburgher!! xo's and God is
