PRESS RELEASE- “Guitars Over Cancer” Pittsburgh, PA May 19, 2010
PITTSBURGH MUSICIANS COME OUT FOR THE LATE WARREN KING.
This first year we honor legendary Pittsburgh guitarist, Warren King, the Kingfish, who died from liver cancer in January. In his honor and certainly his memory, donations will be made to the Susan G. Komen For the Cure, the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network and the Mario Lemieux Foundation.
This event boasts a Pittsburgh all-star line up, as the house band is led by Norman Nardini and Gil Snyder and the Mystic Knights. With.... Gary Baloma, The Grannati Brothers, Bob McKeg, Jim Docherty, Marc Reisman, Dave Dodd, Tom Valentine, Joffo Simmons,..and a host of others.
Fronting the house band is a cavalcade of featured Pittsburgh artists: Billy Price, Shari Richards, Bill Toms, Kenny Blake, Don Hollowood…and other guests to be named.
There will be auctions and raffles throughout the evening, items from the Penguins, Blues Festival, Hard Rock Cafe, Sportzburgh at the airport…and some other special moments.
Donations at Ticketmaster are $10, and at the door are $12.
