We lost our Jazz Festival about 6 years ago. We have a grass roots movement afoot to rekindle it again. we are also opening a multimillion dollar cultural center downtown called the August Wilson Center for African American Culture, The opening is scheduled fro June 1. That alone will be worth a trip to Pittsburgh. Visit www.africanaculture.org/ to keep abreast of it's development.
Happy to have you here on the Pittsburgh side. We have an interesting legacy here that you will certainly enjoy exploring. we wager that no one can be into jazz without being influenced by at least one Pittsburgher. Enjoy.
