For almost 100 years the Pittsburgh region has been a metacenter of jazz originality that is second to no other in the history of jazz. One of the best kept secrets in jazz folklore, the Pittsburgh Jazz Legacy has heretofore remained mythical. We have dubbed it “the greatest story never told” since it has not been represented in writing before now in such a way as to be accessible to anyone seeking to know more about it. When it was happening, little did we know how priceless the memories would become when the times were gone.

Today jazz is still king in Pittsburgh, with events, performances and activities happening all the time. The Pittsburgh Jazz Network is dedicated to celebrating and showcasing the places, artists and fans that carry on the legacy of Pittsburgh's jazz heritage.

Here's the new Acid Jazz Channel.

This is the new Acid Jazz Channel. The old company that used to do this kind of went out of business.

It has almost 3000 video clips from youtube in constant rotation. I make no money from this but I'm open to suggestions. I think its the best music channel ever made, if you like 70 percent acid jazz, 15 percent classic jazz, 10 percent adventuous rock and 5 percent of other.

Major voice seriously ill.

Veteran tenor saxophonist and owner of the Velvet Lounge, Fred Anderson is hospitalised in Chicago. Following admittance for a distended stomach, Fred suffered a heart attack whilst in hospital and for for than10 minutes had no discernible pulse. He is now in a medically induced coma. For those of you who have never seen or heard Fred play in person, then you have missed a giant who has taught and nurtured many up and coming jazz musicians from the Chicago area.

Hi, this is Boomer, a neighbor and friend of Bruce (he’s been a family friend for over 20 years), and I assist him with recording at some of the gigs.
