Swing! Jam! Groove! Any musical mood is possible with the Pittsburgh Jazz Orchestra. Led by the multi-talented trumpeter Sean Jones, PJO is the resident music company of the August Wilson Center. Don’t miss the opportunity to chill with some of the coolest cats in The Burgh as they kick off The Center’s fall concert series by featuring the music of local legends Billy Strayhorn and Mary Lou Williams.
On exhibit this evening will be the captivating work of Frank Stewart, an award-winning, New York-based photographer whose work has been included in solo and group exhibitions at venues such as the Studio Museum in Harlem, Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, International Center of Photography and the Museum of Contemporary Art (Los Angeles).
