50 Cent has more than 1 million friends on MySpace, but if the rapper ever decides to leave the social network, he'll be leaving behind those friends, too. So like a growing number of artists, he's started his own social networking site.
On Thisis50.com, fans can create profiles and friend lists just like on MySpace, but 50 Cent has direct access to the site's users and their e-mail addresses.
More and more acts, from… Continue

I am always never a bandleader, but I had wasted my time rehearsing with some guys I thought were loyal., but had no indication they weren't.
I HAVE RUN INTO NOTHING BUT B.S. SINCE I CAME BACK. THE SCENE HAS TOTALLY CHANGED!
ANYONE THAT KNOWS ME KNOWS i AM GOOD AND I AM 54 AND REFUSE TO DO THIS GAME OF BLUES VS. JAZZ ETC. I HAVE 2 CD'S IN THE MAKING.....ONE WITH ME AS THE WHOLE BAND.
UNFORTUNATELY, ON A LIVE PERFORMANCE THIS DOESN'T WORK.
WHAT IS U[P?????? Really?

First of all, I am so impressed with the effort that Dr. Nelson Harrison has made into this community and the quality of the content and people that are coming here to support it! Thanks to all of you for letting me know a little more about yourselves here.
One of the things that I would like to learn more about is what jam sessions there are in Pittsburgh. My interests span a variety of music from jazz, funk, soul, gospel, blues and jam band styles. I know there are great places to… Continue

Pgh has such a rich jazz supporting heritage.I hope it doesn't become a thing of the past.
When I've been back to visit and to sing it has been so disheartening to see fewer and fewer venues still hanging in there.
There are so many really wonderful musicians there ( of course I include singers in that category).
They need the support of each other
and of the Pgh audiences and potential employers.
The city needs the positive energy that is created from showing… Continue

Growing up in Montreal in the 60s, I heard music from artists like Michelle Richard, Ginette Reno and Robert Charlebois. At home, my Dad had the radio dial set firmly to the English speaking station, CJAD, that featured news and easy listening stuff like Percy Faith and Tom Jones.
My first musical awakening came around the age of 10, while watching a local TV variety show called Like Young. One day Wilson Pickett came to town and the show invited him to appear. I remember my brother… Continue
