Dwight White Rest in Peace Tiny by maryrose on Jun 6, 2008 3:24 PM EDT Dwight White, a famed member of Pittsburgh's Steel Curtain, became the second member of the Curtain to pass away this year (Ernie Holmes). White died after complications of back surgery that he underwent a week ago. He was only 59-years old. I am proud that White signed my Helmet. He was underrated in my opinion. He earned two Pro Bowls and four career Super Bowl Rings. He is a member of the All-Time Steelers 75th…

Recap from trip to Brazil
On my last communication with you I was very short on telling about my time spent in Brazil. Although I don’t intend to share a diary, I would love to share some of the good times I spent there and maybe even introduce you to some of the great people I got to spend a little time with. (more details on my blog at myspace.com./keniabrazil)
First and foremost, I went to visit and… Continue

Am I stooping too low in posting a blog about this? I had two gigs fall through (June 13th and June 14th). If anyone needs a drummer for either of those dates, I'm available!

Are you kidding me? Although he has served the community very well I will never forgive him for causing a mistrial in the Johnny Gammage case. Those cops should have gone to prison for murder, but Wecht's big mouth caused a mistrial and he knew it would!!! That's not a public servant with the interest of justice in mind. So, now why should he get justice. Just so you know, I can't stand Bush and what he has done to this country!

“ A small town music buff.
I can’t tell you were it started or even when , it may have been the heart thumping beat of Grand Master flash, or My dads Honky tonk blasting loudly or even the trumpets of George Betters as he tooted a few tunes as the sun went down sitting there on his stoop here in Connellsville. What ever it was I was hooked, nothing like it has pleased or consoled me more then the music of the “streets.” Growing up in a small town with a very small amount of…

MAY 1-Joe Harris is a jazz legend in the history of be-bop jazz. Providing the rhythm section for the likes of Dizzy Gillespie, Charlie Parker, and Miles Davis in the 1940’s and 50’s, Mr. Harris was a part of a new movement that changed the sound of jazz forever. On May 1, Joe Harris will share his stories and experiences, his archive of pictures and memorabilia with jazz fans and musicians, and demonstrate the technique that made jazz history.
Join Mr. Harris for an evening of…

Dear IAJE Family,
It is with a great sense of loss that I inform you that despite drastic efforts to cut expenses and raise emergency funds, the IAJE Board has voted to file for bankruptcy under Chapter 7 of the Federal Bankruptcy Law. I want to thank profusely those who responded with their generous donations and offers of assistance following my last communication. While over 250 individuals contributed just over $12,000, this, along with the many other efforts and contributions of…

Yah I know...I'm hopelessly out of date. I STILL think "album" sounds cooler than "CD".
Anyway....we're in the later stages of doing a recording that's been in the planning stages since the summer of 06. In Jan. 07 I did some things at Stark Lake Recording in Orlando, Florida. The people involved in that session included Richard Drexler on bass, John Jenkins, drums, Jeff Rupert, tenor, and John Allred on trombone. (is Allred the finest player today? I sure couldn't argue the point.)…
