I had written that many folks have instruments sitting in attics, closets, under beds and in corners. Why not have a 'Take an old instrument out for a walk.', at some venue so they can be played and/or donated to a worthy cause like the Westinghou...

It is like, hardly nothing, man. But there are a few kids trying hard to hold the marching band together. They have a clarinet, a trumpet, a sax, and a few other instruments, and a drum line. These kids are crying out. Meet Aug 27, 6:30 at school.

Roger Humphries

Artie and I went out to the new club, Melange, on 6th street downtown to listen to some music. We found out about the gig from Roger Humphries' website. Put your gigs on every website you can, you never know when I am coming out!

I am gonna tell you all what...no drummer plays like Roger. He's the only one I know that can give you goosebumps listening to a drum solo!

It's amazing, and the rest of the band was great, too! We had a good time, and the music lifted my spirit up high!

Michelle Obama shared her love of jazz- she said Jazz was Democracy in Action. Each musician has freedom, but with responsibility to the group... check out msnbc for the little video I don't know how to post it.

Obama Inauguration Luncheon

ACORN is holding an Obama Inauguration Luncheon on the 20th of January, starting at 10 AM. We will have a big screen to view the festivities together, and will honor Ms. Lillian Allen, 100 years old, who doorknocked her street before going to vote, to make sure that all her neighbors made it to the polls!
Luncheon colors, Black and Red
Cost- either a $10.00 contribution, or a covered dish.
