For almost 100 years the Pittsburgh region has been a metacenter of jazz originality that is second to no other in the history of jazz. One of the best kept secrets in jazz folklore, the Pittsburgh Jazz Legacy has heretofore remained mythical. We have dubbed it “the greatest story never told” since it has not been represented in writing before now in such a way as to be accessible to anyone seeking to know more about it. When it was happening, little did we know how priceless the memories would become when the times were gone.

Today jazz is still king in Pittsburgh, with events, performances and activities happening all the time. The Pittsburgh Jazz Network is dedicated to celebrating and showcasing the places, artists and fans that carry on the legacy of Pittsburgh's jazz heritage.

MUSIC CALENDAR FOR THE THREE RIVERS ARTS FESTIVAL 2008

Unless otherwise noted, Lunchtime shows are at 12 pm. Happy Hour shows are at 5:30 pm. Opening Acts go on at 6:30 with Headliners at 7:30. Late Night concerts begin after Main Stage performances are over, usually around 9:30 pm. Lunchtime, opening acts and headliners all take place on the Main Stage at Stanwix Triangle. Save Cyril Wecht?

Are you kidding me? Although he has served the community very well I will never forgive him for causing a mistrial in the Johnny Gammage case. Those cops should have gone to prison for murder, but Wecht's big mouth caused a mistrial and he knew it would!!! That's not a public servant with the interest of justice in mind. So, now why should he get justice. Just so you know, I can't stand Bush and what he has done to this country!

Empire State AIDS Bicycle Ride!

On August 10, 2008, I will begin a seven day, 560-mile fundraising bicycle ride from Niagara Falls, NY to Robert Wagner Park in lower Manhattan to benefit Aids Community Resources.
